A shocked hush fell over the room. Everyone had a dumfounded look on their faces.

“He did what?” Richie cradled his wrist.

“He tied a life bond with this woman by sharing his blood with her. They will mate for life.”

“That sound so...so national geographic!” David huffed.

“So how the fuck did I get to do that? I’ve been married, why didn’t I bond with Dot?”

Chimala stared down at the sleeping form.

“Why don’t we take this somewhere else? All this blood has made me thirsty.” She eyes Richie’s wrist.

They entered Jon’s hotel room a few moments later.

Jon poured everyone a stiff drink.

Handing her a glass of red wine, he gritted.

“You haven’t answered my question.”

Her eyes flashed into his.

“This is all new to me too, ok? I’ve never in my life experienced it, only heard about it.”

“Fucking brilliant.” Jon cursed under his breath. “Trust me to do something so stupid.”

“You should have thought about it before you fed her from your vein. “

“I didn’t feed her, she bit me.” His lips turned into a crooked smile.

“OOhhhh! Too much info!” David cradled his ears with his palms.

“Don’t you want it then? The only way to end it is to kill her.” Chimala was testing him and he failed miserably.

Jon head snapped up, his hand raking through his blonde hair.

“You’re fucking kidding me, right?”

“Do I look like I’m kidding.”

“Ok woooaaaaa all of you. No one s going to kill Ciara.” Richie stepped between the two vampires.

Chimala settled onto the couch, her wine forgotten between her hands.

“The reason why you couldn’t bond with your wife is because Ciara is special. Rare species, definitely not easy to find.”

“Is she human?”

“To the naked eye, yes but there is much more to her. You’ve picked up on it without realising it. That’s why you were attracted to her from the first time you’ve met.”

“So you telling me this happened all by chance?”

“No not at all. She can only bond with the one she was destined to be with....apparently you.”

“Ooohhh God.” That explained it all! She was his even before he touched her, tasted her! Male pride exploded in his chest and a deep satisfied growl rumbled from him.

All eyes turned towards the growling male in their midst.

“So she was special after all, it wasn’t Jon losing his mind?” Richie was so glad to hear that!

“No not at all. You see the coven calls creatures like her Enepsigos, strong humanlike creatures, fallen angels who appears in the shape of woman, the only creatures that can carry the seed of a vampire in her womb.”

“Fallen angels...” Jon murmured, his thoughts drifted back to the woman standing in the door with her tattered wings...Ironic.

“Ok this is getting waayyyy fucking freaky.” Richie tugged Ksenia into his warmth.

“She cannot be killed when a vampire feeds from her. That’s why she “died” and came to life again. Her body repaired itself. An Enepsigos are also known for their physic abilities and when they bond with a vampire, they tap into their thoughts, their emotions. An Enepsigos lives for her mate, that’s what she is made for. Her ancient bloodline created her to be this way.”

“Does she know she is physic?” Ksenia’s tiny voice quivered.

“I’m not sure. She might not realise it.”

“So do I get this right.... Jon is the only one that can impregnate her? And she is the only one that can carry his seed?” Tico puffed on his cigar.

Chimala shook her head.

“No, this is where it gets tricky. She can carry any vampire’s seed, any vampire that has sex with her during her fertile period. Vampires from the coven will never interfere with a blood bond between a vampire and his Enepsigos. But you need to heed my warning, Jon, rogue vampires will try to get to her as soon as they can pick up on her fertile state. The scent is quite strong and it will attract many unwanted visitors.”

“You’re fucking with me right?” Jon could feel the violence building in his intestines just by the thought of another man’s hands on Ciara.

“Why would they want to impregnate her?” Ksenia stared in horror at the red haired vampiress.

“A baby born from such a coupling is the strongest vampire known to the coven. The child is born a daywalker. So as you can see , an Enepsigos is a rare breed and it might take centuries before one is born. The coven cherishes an Enepsigos, protecting them fiercely. ”

“So if the rogues build an army of Daywalkers wouldn’t the covern want to kill the baby if it means a potential threat to them?”

“No we need them too. The covern needs them as Guardians to keep our bloodlines strong and pure, and to keep the rogues from impregnating the Enepsigos. Without these strong Guardians the coven will cease to exist.”

Silence fell over the room. There was so much to take in. There they thought Jon was going through some sort of obsession and in the meantime he had landed himself an Enepsigos, a bearer of vampires.

“Jon I need to warn you that if Ciara should fall pregnant, her body will be compromised. Her immune system lowers to accept the seed within her. She will be in greater danger of getting sick or even dying. Her body will compromise everything to protect the life within her.”

“Oh Jesus!” Jon was a bundle of fury. How did he get himself and Ciara into this mess? If she dies...he didn’t want to think about it. “How do I know, I haven’t impregnated her already.”

“She hasn’t ripened yet. A Enepsigos ripens every five years, starting in her 28th year. She is nearing her first ripening. The symptoms will show itself soon. You are going to have your hands full with her, Jon. Her body will overpower her mind, driving her to ensure that her womb carries a new life, she will seek a willing partner albeit a human or a vampire. Human seed will not survive in her womb, her body will reject it until she finds the seed of a vampire.”

“You telling me she is going to turn into a nymphomaniac?”

“Something like that, yes.” She flashed him a sultry grin. “Somehow I don’t think you will have a problem with that?”

“Fucking hell! What the hell did I do?! How long does this...eehh...ripening lasts? How do I know when she is ready?”

“About three months. As for her readiness, you will pick up on it immediately, trust me. Just keep an eye on her, you wouldn’t be able to miss is. You will be the only one to recognise it though. Humans are not sensitive to it at all. You and the rest of the vampire nation will see it, her scent , her attitude, her whole being.”

Jon groaned as if in pain.

“Three months of constant sex and guarding Ciara, my man. Are you up to it?” Richie’s cheeks were flushed. Talk of seed, nymphomaniacs and sex screwed with a man’s groin.

“Is there any other way to get around this shit?” He imagined himself twined with her delicious body 24/7 and no matter how tempting it was, it was just plain impossible. Was there no end to his shit?!

“As I said, killing her is the only way. She is your responsibility from now on. She needs your blood to thrive. Not as much as you gave her but she needs it and when she is pregnant , she’ll need it more often. Without the blood from her bonded male, she will lose the pregnancy and the risk of losing her life as well.”

“Are you ready to take on the responsibility of a bonded male?”

All eyes turned his way, waiting for the answer.
