Chapter 80

Her thoughts speared through him.

What a way to make an impression Jon. Way to go asshole!

Waiting until the footsteps fainted, he returned to his room, sagging into the couch.

How in the fuck could he ever think that meeting her would be easy? Every time he smelled her essence or heard that tinkle as she laughed he wanted to savour her sweet nectar, feel her move beneath him. Devour her.

He roared as he swooped to his feet. He cannot think like that for God’s sake! She wasn’t here to serve as his meal, she was here to....to...to what?.

“Jon?”

David was taken aback by his slight jump as he called out to him. Jon was as vigilant as a jungle cat and to catch him unawares was surprising to say the least. Did he just make the mistake of his life to bring the girl here?

“What?”

“Why didn’t you meet her?”

“I wasn’t ready.” His eyes sparkled challengingly.

“She thought you were rude. I could see it in her face and for some absurd reason she was shit scared of Richie.”

“I know. I heard her.” He didn’t mention the part where she was thinking about a recurring dream or vision or what the hell you call it... of Richie nonetheless!

Jon was in no mood for any company, so he shrugged his shoulders, he had done all he could.

Hope to God he won’t regret it one day!

“G’night then.”

“David? Thanks for bringing her.”

“Sure.”

I hope I didn’t make the mistake of my life...

“Let’s hope not.”

David didn’t say a word as he walked out, the fact that Jon was just as unsure was worse than the knowledge that he can read his thoughts at any given time.

Ciara was thankful for the silence and her own company. She didn’t know that she would have to face the firing squad by being introduced to the band members.

Well the night was a bit of a disappointment after the lead singer refused to meet her. She knew he was in the room, she was sure she heard him move around.

Oh well, there will always be another day. Its not like the tour was ending soon. All she knew was that she wouldn’t like him even before she even laid eyes on him. She had no time for arrogance in her life and definitely not spoiled rockstars either.

An eerie feeling brushed down her spine as she rummaged through her suitcase. It was...like someone was watching her?

Turning around slowly, she was lured towards the blowing curtains. That smell....she knew that smell..or scent? Lifting her face, she marvelled at the breeze playing with her wild curls, sucking in the rain filled breeze as it played over her skin.

Her eyes drifted close and she let herself go, freeing herself from the tautness pulling at her shoulder blades, letting the worries flutter away in the night breeze. It was time to embrace the new chapter of her life with open arms and stop feeling sorry for herself.

Breezy fingers brushed her cheek, drifting down her neck gently as it caressed the sensitive skin there. Her hair wafted in gentle waves as if an invisible hand was playing with it...

Welcome Ciara.

A shudder charged through her back and she gasped, her eyes shot open in alarm.

Someone or something was with her, touching her....welcoming her?!

A movement at the window caught her eye and she shrieked. Glowing cobalt coals stared at her from the dark night.

Moving as fast as her paralyzed muscles could carry her, Ciara rushed from the room right into a warm, muscled wall.

“Oh! I’m...”

“Ciara ...”

Blinking once...twice, her eyes regained focus.

Warmth oozed from the stranger, seeping into her icy bones. Strong fingers held her by the shoulders. She could smell the rain on his skin, see the drops scattered on his hair.

Then she looked into the stormiest of blue eyes she had ever seen.

“I’m so sorry!” She mumbled, not wanting to leave the comfortable warmth.

“No problem. You are Ciara, right?”

“I am...yes...and you are?”

His smile was blinding and she couldn’t help but try and mirror the perfection as precise as she could. Feeling her bottom lip tremble, she decided against it. Her nerves wouldn’t let her, maybe some other time.

Staring back at the handsome face, she froze as she saw a pair of blue depths staring intently at her quivering lips.

“Anything wrong? You look a bit upset.”

Snorting to hide her embarrassment, she laughed.

“Oh, I’m just being silly. Don’t mind me. I think the strange surroundings and my crazy mind proved to be too much tonight. So tell me, are you working for the band as well?”

“You could say so.”

Her heart made a silly flip-flop as the man smiled again. Quite a handsome man, or like Holly would put it...DAYUM HOT! Baby blue eyes set in a beautiful, maybe too beautiful face, strong jawline, perfect white pearlies, and the hair...who does his hair? Its gorgeous!

He chuckled lightly, bringing her thoughts back to the present.

Ok! I’m staring!

“How long have you been working here?”

“Oohh...since the beginning.”

Her eyes widened.

“Geesh and how do you find the lead singer of the band? I was suppose to meet him but he deemed himself too important. To be honest, I have no patience for people like that. Who does he think he is?”

“Jon Bon Jovi?”

She snorted.

“Oh whatever, he can’t be THAT special.”

A strange look flashed in his eyes and she smiled apologetically.

“I’m sorry. I’m new , haven’t even met the man and I have an opinion. I’m not usually like this, I apologise. Please don’t take me to mind, it’s been ....”

“...a long day. I understand but could I give you some advice? Give the guy some time, he’s not too bad. Once you get to know him, you’ll like him.”

She felt her cheeks warmed.

“I will do and sorry again. My mouth is like a runaway train tonight. I guess its nerves.”

“Nothing to be nervous about, you are in safe hands.” His drop dead gorgeous smile convinced her of that, or was it the darker shade of cobalt in his eyes?

Wow! He had some expressive eyes!

He blinked suddenly and she took a step back. Something eerie loomed in the air and Ciara couldn’t help the sudden shiver tapping down her spine. It was suddenly cold in the hallway!

“Well it was nice to meet you...uuhh...” He didn’t give his name, did he?

“The pleasure is all mine, Ciara.”

Her name slipped off his tongue like fine wine.

“Well goodnight then.”

“G’night.”

The spicy scent she smelled earlier floated towards her and she turned. She was alone.
